Are you describing your service activities if they are on AMCAS or just listing?
Also, is it okay if I paste in the course descriptions from the syllabus?

If you are just referring to the service activities you are currently doing, then you just put the title of the service. If you are talking about the patient experiences that you need to add, then the narratives shouldn't parallel the primary, like what the secondary says. For the latter, I just wrote anecdotal stories for each activity.

I came into college with IB credits for Literature and Rhetoric, so I never took those classes in college, but I did get a Liberal Arts degree so I have taken many analytical writing/reading courses.

I didn't reach out, but I saw on their website that they wanted something that was reading/writing intensive. So I used my philosophy and religion courses and added a course description for each class.

Oh okay makes sense. They didnt screen out your app and you still got a secondary to explain how you fulfilled that requirement, correct? Also, does the course description have to be straight from your schools website or can you explain in your own words how it was reading/writing intensive?

I think everyone who applies gets a secondary, and they screen out based on your pre-reqs maybe? But I pulled the course description directly from the course syllabus. My university has a respository with all syllabi, so I copied it straight from there
 
Quick question: I forgot to put the course descriptions in the pre req sections, but I have all the courses they need. Are they going to disqualify me for that?
 
I got the secondary July 7th, but am now just getting to it due to all my other essays, would it be too late to submit now and have a shot?
 
I also got the secondary on July 7th, I am planning to submit today. Still apply!

You have a better shot doing it now than if you chose not to do it at all! Plus its still July!
 
Hi Everyone. Current MS1 here at Rush. Only been here in since the beginning of July but I am happy to answer any questions y'all may have.

The Med School application cycle can be really rough, but try to find times to relax and find joy. There is so much life in the waiting

Any advice for handling anxiety over IIs? I know many of the higher stat applicants will be prioritized first, but the stress is killing me.

Just do your best on writing great secondaries and submitting them on time. The rest is on the schools. Most schools haven’t even started interviews yet. I wasn’t interviewed till December for Rush. There is a lot of time between now and may of 2026. My advice is try not to be so focused on applications you forget to leave room for everything else in your life
 
Guys, Rush's seocndaries got lost in my email, and I jsut found it. It's been 3 weeks. I'm going to submit today. Am I screwed? 😭

You will be fine. Take your time to make sure the responses are good quality. Even if you submit in a week you are still "on time."

Apply apply apply! If you take your time, they will see the quality in your writing and story. You got this, OP!
 
Only now getting to Rush essays, but my 2 weeks from invitation ends tomorrow. Does Rush specify a hard deadline for 2 weeks to submit?

No, they do not. Schools will make it very clear if they do, so it would be hard to miss it!

Gotcha. Been dreading this one since there's so many questions but at least I can pace myself a bit with these questions
 
forgot to submit my capser up until today. submitted main secondary 7/13, just submitted casper now 08/05. is this too late? does this hurt my chances?

I don't think they will care about your preview, but I don't think casper is weighted all that heavily. I had a 2nd quartile casper score and it never came up

You should be fine. I can't speak for adcoms' views but generally it feels like there's not much weight being placed on CASPER at all. Rush not accepting PREview means they most likely won't care whatever your score is
 
I hate that they require CASPER. I've rescheduled it three times because I end up not wanting to do it. Supposed to do it 08/12 now so I hope that's not too late.

Maannn they were just posting their secondaries like many others. This is what the school specific threads are for. We're all trying to get to the same end goal, so let's treat peers with compassion.

does anyone know if there is specific guidance against a "why us" in the additional info section for rush?

Is the credit listed on your transcript? So, I didn't apply to Rush, but when completing other school's secondaries they usually said to include AP credits as a "future course" option and just type out "AP Credit - Calculus 1" or something like that. Maybe that's an option?
 
Anyone know if they'll accept orgo I and II for biochem? :/ I really wanna submit the secondary but have heard conflicting information about whether I should even submit or not.

current m1 here - had no connections, not even to the city of chicago. probably doesn't affect your chances at all. our class is pretty widespread... lots of people from california, the northeast, florida people, bunch of illinoisans... etc
