This R lowkey stings. >90%ile GPA and MCAT for applicants, solid mission match, high volunteer hours, and decent interview. Worst of all Rush is supposed to have one of the highest post-II acceptance rates.

I wouldn't say the highest moreso high average, there are definitely schools with worse odds and schools with better odds too. They could also be yield protecting their school, meaning your stats were "on the higher end" of their school. Keep your head up.

Same haha. My heart also goes out to the one bro on Admit.org who was rejected with a 521 and 4.0 lol. I know RUSH is not about stats, but a rejection after an interview is always disheartening.

Just found out today (the hard way) there's no such thing as a "safety" school lol. But honestly look at the interview percentages, you're more likely to not hear from them than you are even if your stats are much higher.

would not consider rush a safety. in fact it is one of the lowest yield med schools… tens of thousands apply and only around five hundred ivs go out. very holistic; very service oriented.

also; as a veteran of the app process, there is no such thing as safety schools.

OOS A yesterday - feeling so grateful. Interview complete 10/1, LM 73. For those of you who got accepted did you submit your deposit immediately? In the email it says it is not due until April 30th so I was thinking of waiting but don't want to lose my spot

Great question. I had like 1000 and got waitlisted haha but they are looking for a lot. I’m sure it really varies per person. I’ve been a “public servant” for years so it seems like they valued my paid service as well. If so, you’re looking more at like 10,000 hours. But as you can deduce, that would be an impossible expectation for a traditional student.

Just got an email today with an application update status saying that they are currently assessing my application. I have not gotten an II yet but I submitted my secondary on 7/23 does that mean they just got to mine or more likely they have seen my application but skipped over it based on some quantitative metrics and now went back to fully review it?

Not sure what you are asking but I’m a reapplicant who applied here last year and I didn’t get this email last year. But again this is probably just them trying to be transparent in their process and nothing more but who knows.
