Very high alt list. I interviewed late (2/25)
the email said very high alt list? Mine just said this “However, you will be placed on our alternate list, which will be finalized on or around April 15th.” bummer 🙁

interviewed first week of March, WL today.

If I'm on the anticipated very high alternate list and got invited to the closer look thing, shouldn't that mean good news? Im coming from OOS and they are fitting people for white coats, seems like itd be pretty messed up to do that and not accept people they fit

Woahhh can you elaborate on that? Why so many repeats?
I don't know too many details about it, she just mentioned there was a good chunk of students who needed to remediate compared to the M2/M3 classes. I thought she said the histology course module, not just the exam, tripped people up? I could be totally wrong so I don't want to share false info, she just mentioned they wouldn't know for sure until after their final exams and their remediations.

+1 OOS A top third 🎉 I’m in total shock, this is my first acceptance of a very long cycle of waiting 🥹. I’m over the moon with joy. GOD is AMAZING!! Congratulations to anyone else that got off this morning and to those still waiting, keep believing. You will get your offer soon <3
Congratulations!! Did they call or email?

I’m an Ohio resident and on the top tier WL at Wright State. I was recently accepted at another school (out of state) that has given me until FRIDAY to Commit To Enroll. I called Wright and they said that hopefully they can get to me before Friday and offer an acceptance. I need your help!!!!!

Just got in off the alt list - will likely decline

How possible/easy is it to qualify for in-state tuition after first year as an OOS student? I heard some brief mention of this I think during interview day but I’m trying to make a final decision and I want to know how much of a factor the difference in cost could be…

I don’t have a concrete answer for you but I’ve had the same questions and the requirements seem to be very straightforward. BSOM financial aid told me it’s handled by the university but BSOM sends all OOS students information in April of their first year with info.

Basically you need to have a permanent Ohio address for 12 months, an Ohio drivers license, and (I think) be registered to vote in Ohio. So do all of that ASAP and you should have everything you need for M2 and after.

Thank you so much. So is it guaranteed or is there a potential that you get denied since it’s a loophole and you’re technically not supposed to qualify if you’re only in the state for educational purposes? Do you know any personally who got approved for it? Or know a concrete amount of OOS students who have gotten the reclassification?

I'd encourage you to reach out to the university and ask. I don't know many specifics, although the "residency status for tuition purposes" requirements are set by Ohio law, not university policy. Everything I have heard makes it seem like it is a legitimate option for out of state students. The Ohio State page actually has a lot of helpful information as far as specific requirements, but it's not hugely complicated in terms of eligibility: General Frequently Asked Residency Questions - The Ohio State University
