Final decision on the creation of a new cardiovascular board expected soon

U.S. cardiology groups have worked together to propose the creation of a new American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine for certifying cardiologists. Now, after many months of waiting, a final decision is expected by the end of February.

I hope it is approved. Although being honest, cardiology as a field is so influential that I doubt it very much that the ABIM (who was pushing pretty hard against our new board according to insiders) will be able to prevail. I hope to be celebrating this new cardiology board in March!

Damn that was surprising. I wonder what do they plan to do next, because this rejection is a huge embarrassment for all the academicians and professional organizations involved.
