Changes for 2024-2025 (paid email to NAAHP membership)

Applicants will soon be able to start booking Casper tests for medicine and other health sciences in the US.

Here’s what you need to know about Casper for the upcoming cycle.
2025/26 Casper: shorter test, same quality

Many of our partner programs have been asking us to shorten the length of the Casper test, to reduce the overall burden on applicants. Based on that feedback, we are very pleased to introduce an updated Casper format for the upcoming cycle:
  • New format: 11 scenarios instead of 14
  • Fewer questions: Two per scenario for typed responses (previously three). No changes for video responses
  • Reduced time: 65–85 minutes (previously 90–100 minutes)
To ensure psychometric quality, each question will now be rated individually. Research confirms this maintains—if not improves—reliability, with strong correlations to the previous format.

Casper test price
There is no change to the Casper fee this year, which remains as follows:
  • Medicine: $85 (includes 7 distributions), $18 for each additional distribution
  • Other health professions: $50, plus $16 per distribution
  • Applicants who have been approved for a Fee Assistance Program will have their fee waived if they provide proof of approval when reserving their test (e.g. AAMC, CASPA)

Acuity Insights testing is widespread enough that many applicants would find a school on their list that wants them to take CASPer.
The numbers are down slightly from 2024-2025, when 37 MD and 6 DO schools required it.
Texans will still need to take it, although the number of TMDSAS schools requiring it dropped from 10 to 5.

Keep looking at the Acuity Insights database to register. I see 4 dental schools: CWRU, Louisville, Temple, Utah. Again, this can change...
