Hi all!

Starting a thread for those of us currently applying to career changer PBPM programs to start next spring / summer (2026 - 2027 cohorts). Would love to hear where people have applied / interview with / been accepted at. Figured this could be a good resource for those of us going through this as I haven't yet seen on SDN anything for this current cycle.

Personally, I've applied to Goucher, BM, and UVA (interviews with Goucher and UVA this month). Considering more applications after I do these first couple interviews based on what happens...

Best wishes to everyone!

Just submitted my application to Goucher! I am planning on applying to BM and possibly Scripps. Also considering more applications but not sure… if I strike out I might just wait and reapply next year. My weak spot right now is volunteering/clinical experience. I am hoping my strengths make up for it, and that I’ll at least get to the interview stage.

Fingers crossed! Good luck everyone!

How long did it take for your application to be verified?

How long were your applications in before you heard from each school?
Goucher and UVA were five days from submission to interview. Got a "thanks for your app" same day or day after submitting? BM I submitted and just now two weeks later got a "thanks for your app" email. Still no interview / rejection yet... hoping to hear back either way this week!

I feel this... trying to decide if it's worth applying to more or waiting another year if I strike out haha.

Honestly super fast. Maybe a day or two? Which surprised me bc they said it could take up to two weeks?

Where are you getting these notes from the schools (text? email? PostBac account?)?

I submitted BM weeks ago and Goucher 2+ weeks ago and Goucher about a week ago.
The only thing I received was a "verification" from PostBac saying they were able to confirm my transcript/GPA, etc. and that it was sent on to BM.
Other than that, I have heard CRICKETS. Absolutely ZERO directly from the schools that they even got my info.

I've been working a swing shift so I haven't been crazy focused on PostBac. Kind of put it off till my last day of work (Wed). But now I'm pretty concerned.

Are you willing to share your stats via PM?
I already got an email from Goucher letting me know what their timeline is for reviewing stuff etc. My application isn’t verified or complete yet, waiting on one rec, it was just a confirmation of my application type email. Check your spam?

I would also be interested in hearing stats

Email! Goucher was same day or next day. BM I only JUST got an email from them last week... like ten days after submitting?

Happy to share stats...
ACT: 35; GPA: 3.9; top ten / 15 undergrad school (not Ivy); coming from the startup and finance world

Did you have both recommendations in before submitting?

Thanks for starting the thread. For those who are career changers and have been out of school for a while, did you submit only professional LORs or included an academic rec? I'm finding it difficult to reach out to my professors from grad school since it's been quite a while (2020). Has anyone submitted apps yet and what kind of LORs did you obtain? Thanks

Yes, I do have 2 professors I have been in touch with and reached out to them. Thankfully, they both agreed to write letters for me. I plan to use one from the professor whom I had a much closer relationship with, and another from my PI at work. Thanks a bunch and wish you success in your apps.

I applied to SMU MBS program! I am currently attending and will be going into my second semester! I have not experienced such support in a program before and highly recommend applying if you’re trying to continue to professional studies such as medical, dental, PA, etc.. The application process was simple and after being accepted there is so much support to get you on track! If y’all have any questions about the program, feel free to ask me!

If you’re considering adding more programs, you might also look at SMU’s BMS program. They’ve got a supportive advising structure and a tight-knit cohort that people really thrive in, especially if you want a program that gives you a lot of individualized attention. It can be a really good fit for applicants who want strong guidance as they build up clinical experience during the glide year. Verification did not take long.

Yes!! I am a current student at SMU because my application for medical school wasn't strong enough to apply this cycle. I am completing the MBS program at Samuel Merritt University now, and they have guaranteed interviews with multiple DO schools. So I think it is a good idea to look into it if you think you need something extra to be a competitive applicant!
