23Q with a month and a half to improve?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I took the 4/28/12 MCAT and got a 23Q (PS 7 VR 9 BS 7).

I'm obviously unhappy with this score and am signed up to retake on 7/14/12.

Is this enough time to improve my score to at least a 29? I didn't really study at all for this first test. I didn't take a single practice test.

23 for not doing anything is pretty good. It will be hard to do 30+ but I did something similar are practice test and now I average 30-32. It is possible with hard work! But I've spent at least 10 hrs a day studying for the past 2.5 weeks. Just force yourself to keep going and you'll see an improvement!

So in other words your real MCAT was your diagnostic? Yeah, I'd say you can definitely improve. That said, in the one and a half months you have from now until 7/14 you'd probably only finish content review. Try giving yourself to the end of August. That gives you about 3 months, and it shouldn't really even interfere with classes since the first week of classes typically aren't very demanding.

If you did not study and you got 23, it is very possible that you can get even 30+ in 45 days IMO.

Since you have a short time and seem like u r okay with most of your content... I would just take AAMCs, look at what topics you getting wrong and study those subjects..... also was the biology on the mcat detailed.. I have PR bio and I am not sure if I should switch to EK bio..

I plan on using PR orgo, gen chem, and physics... I am enrolled in PR course so I will use PR practice questions and mock MCATs.

Troll... who would take a real mcat as a diagnostic....

Im sure plenty of people do it. A 25 is average which means 50% of people are scoring below that. Those 10s and 12s have to be coming from somewhere, and its not from people who studied for 3 months full time I can assure you of that.

I also took this test on 4/28 and really did bad on VR, but fairly well on the other sections. I decided to reschedule for September 7th. I wouldn't wait to take it til next year again if it's a retake since the sciences are still fresh on my mind. But the VR, I really need to improve it within 3 months. // In OP's case, since you haven't studied yet, august sounds alright. But if you need more time, I'd say take it early next year.
