Hey SDN! Thanks in advance for any advice regarding my list of schools. I know my MCAT is low and I'm considering applying to a few DO schools but I prefer MD so right now those are the only schools I've got listed. Colorado Resident & first time applicant.

Graduated May 2014 w/ Exercise Science Degree, Biomedical Sciences minor, Honors Student Designation, cum laude

28 MCAT, 3.81 cGPA (in AMCAS), 3.65 sGPA (3x Deans List)

Work Experience:
-Pediatric Office
-Organic Chemistry Tutoring, Master Tutor Award and Lead Tutor for Chemistry Department
-Lifeguarding (6 years), Head Lifeguard
-Head Swim Coach (1 year), Assistant Coach (1 year)/Swim Lessons Instructor (6 years)

Research:
-Bench work (~1 semester, 4ish hours per week, had chosen the wrong project for me unfortunately, would've loved to do much more)
-Honors Thesis (~ 1 semester of work, 100ish hours)

Volunteering/Community Service:
-ER volunteering
-Alternative Spring Break Trips (2, clinical and nonclinical volunteering)
-Varied community service (100ish hours)
-Mentoring struggling 5th grade students at local elementary school

ECs (tons of hours throughout course of 4 years of undergrad)
-Peer Mentor of Honors Program
-Up Til Dawn (Fundraising and Awareness for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Assistant Director)
-Program to Connect Professors/Research on Campus to undergrads (Officer)
-Event Planning (just for fun, Various Leadership Roles)
-Premed/Biology student groups

Shadowing:
-Pediatric, ENT, low income family practice clinic (~40 hours)
(continuing to shadow, I've been reaching out to more specialties)

-Rochester (dream school outside of Co, I know it's probably a long shot)
-Creighton
-Albany
-New York Medical College
-University of Vermont College of Medicine
-University of Washington School of Medicine
-Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine
-Meharry
-Howard
-Quinnipac
-Medical College of Wisconsin
 
Double check the demographics on Howard and Meharry and make sure you fit into those.
 
As @gyngyn noted you have too few schools where you have a chance for an interview. Consider adding these schools:
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Tulane
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Commonwealth (PA)
Rush
Any new private MD schools that open in 2016
