Hi everyone, in my undergrad I got 2 F's in orgo and I retook them to B and an A. Took a botany class got a D then a C. Are those severe red flags for my application and can I ask how severe? Please help 🙁

Whats your overall GPA and science GPA according to ADEA calculations? Having a 3.5 and two F's is better than having a 2.5 and two F's.

3.o both science and overall according to my school. I have yet to have my AADSAS GPA calculated.

Does your school calculate your F's into your GPA even if you take the classes over again? AADSAS does.

I believe anything under 3.2 is a red flag, both overall or science GPA-wise, but it can be saved by a very high DAT score (23-25 or higher). I would highly recommend doing either a post-bac or a master's to get that GPA up. Get a 3.75+ in either program and you'll have a great shot at getting interviews/acceptances.

PS,EC,URM, and CS can help increase your chances. gl

I would apply broadly. I normally discourage applying to private schools when they're so many better options, but you may be stuck in an example of where private schools could be your last hope. It's either that or doing a 1 year masters. Been told by adcom that post-bac is a waste of time. Of course, don't forget to apply to your state school(s).

AADSAS does calculate your GPA a bit differently and re-taking a class wouldn't replace the bad grade. I think they average the 2. Depending on your DAT and other stuff, you might have a chance.
