photos are usually for recall purposes - so its only in your best interest 🙂

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have a related question...

When sending in the photo... what are your opinions on smiling, facial expressions, and whatnot...

Last 2 years I've applied, my photo was basically like a passport photo - just a resting facial expression - no big toothy grin 😀

your thoughts?

mine were like passport photos too. School say they want to have a professional-looking photo

the photo should look professional, but showing a smile never hurts...i smiled and it still looked professional.....i think in a way it shows personality

You are applying to a Dental school for heaven's sake...Smile. Don't smile like a jackass, but wear a suit and tie and show those pearly whites....or your kickass grill like my picture to the left :meanie:

Unless you look less attractive while smiling.

where exactly did you guys get your 2x2 headshots?

just have a friend take your picture against a white background, crop it so that it's 2x2, then bring it to riteaid/savon to have it printed. i placed 6 passport photos on a 4x6, which costs like 15 cents each.

I went to Glamorshots at the mall and had a nice beach backdrop with my chin on my fist, looking pensive. A nice misty glow was also added. It turned out really nicely.

Hahaha this is great! I think I might try the misty glow as well:laugh:! So does everyone pretty much agree that printing something out on your own printer isn't good enough quality?

Well I got it printed for like 35 cents because I don't have a good quality colour printer or photo paper.

I got mine done at costco. It was actually more expensive than I expected, like $10 for 8 photos. But they turned out nice, and going there gave me an excuse to buy a churro, so I feel it was worth it 🙂
