For those of you who are struggling to get 2x2 photos that are required to be sent to many schools and to save precious money (at $5 or more per photo, they can add up quickly), here is a free website:

http://www.idphoto4you.com/

Basically, take your own photo with a smartphone or a digital camera, then upload the file to the site, choose the passport size for cropping, then create the photo. Then you can download the photo thus created as a .jpg file, take it to Walmart or CVS and have it printed out on photo paper. Cut, then send.
Presto.

Don't you still have to pay to get the pictures printed?

Or if you have photo paper you can print it out yourself.

Yes, but you would only pay $5 for a whole sheet of photos. And, like dbd says, you can print it out yourself if you have photopaper. In addition, you get to choose the photo that you like best, or you can retake until you find one that portrays you best.

im gonna try that!!!! i feel like those people at cvs, rite ..... ect dont know how to take pictures!!! half the time one eye was closed!!!!!! :O

this app i'm looking at says the print size can be:
(9 x 13cm(3.5 x 5") , 10 x 15cm(4 x 6") and 13 x 18cm(5 x 7") ) and the Photo says which has just this one selection : passport and visa ( 2 x 2)"
which one do i use if i wanna send it to dental schools????

I don't know what app you use, but I used the www.idphoto4u.com website, created the passport photo by uploading my photo image in .jpg format. The site created a file with 2 photos on it for me to download. I then went to Walmart and had them print my file out on a 4x6 size (2 photos on each sheet). The software on idphoto4u.com recommends printing out the file on 3.5x5 size paper, but Walmart does not provide that size, the smallest size they print is a 4x6 print. The photos came out ok, I just need to now cut the face to 2x2 size. For two 4x6 prints, it costs me $0.62 total, for a total of 4 passport photos. If I had agreed to Walmart creating passport size photos for me from my file (they offered), they would have charged me $7.49 for 2 passport photos. I figured I can cut the photos to size to save a few bucks. Hope this helps someone.

Ok, it appears than on the home page of the idphoto4u.com, if you choose the option 4x6, you'll get a created file with 4 pics on it, if you choose the 5x7 option, you'll get a file with 6 pics on it. So it will cost you even less to print at Walmart, since for a 4x6 you pay 0.29 + tax for 4 passport-size pics on that one sheet. Pretty nifty.

Which schools require a 2x2?

The quick and easy way I did it:
1) Took photo.
2) Went to http://www.idphoto4you.com/
3) Selected 2x2 photo size and 4x6 print size
4) Uploaded photo
5) Cropped photo as needed
6) Downloaded 4x6 photo (which had FOUR 2x2's on it) and saved to computer
7) Uploaded this photo to local drugstore's website and requested one print
8) Picked up at store and 31 cents later, I have four 2x2's to send off

If this is your biggest concern in the application process, good on ya, mate!

Sams club would take your picture and print 2 for only $5 and take them less than an hour

Did anyone else just open a picture in paint, resize the picture, and print it out? Normal paper. Turned out fine!
