As for science courses, I've got about a 3.2. I know I can do better with less partying, which really brought my grades down second semester. Am I still in the clear and on a good track? Most ppl have told me grades usually go up after freshman year, I'm just wondering if dental schools look for consistanly 3.5 and up all 3 years.

I've got an A avg. in biology courses/labs
C+ avg. in my 1 semester of chem lecture/lab
C avg. in my 1 semseter of calculus.

If I'm too paranoid/stupid, feel free to insert sarcasm:hardy:

i'd rather have a dentist who got a 3.0 his freshman year because he partied too much than one who got a 4.0 all 4 years beceause he/she was too much of a stiff to have a good time.

You're still fine; you have a lot more classes to take, and they like to see upward trends. As long as you actually do show improvement and end up with a higher gpa, you should be ok. If you continue to keep around 3.0, it's going to be tough when it comes time to apply. I wouldn't agree so much with the generalization that grades usually go up after freshman year; it's all up to what you want to do.
Good luck.

Try to make those your last C's in the sciences

Mos def. I really had no idea what to expect from chemistry, and I knew I wouldn't do very well in calculus b/c I did poorly in highschool. Apparently my schools chem. dept. is really strong...

relax.... you have plenty of time to bring up your grades. focus now on what you need to do next year to improve your grades.
