3 year stalker that just created an account.

I'm applying to mostly DO, but some MD schools. I was mostly curious about how my ECs stacked up to average pre-meds (but also my chances at anything). Thanks!

GPA (not impressive):
Science: 3.29
Overall: 3.3

MCAT: 34 (10-12-12)

ECs:
Business Owner (started when I was 20)

Volunteer Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer: 4 years/4hrs wk/Total 650hrs
(offered free classes <like Yoga> and workshops <woman's self defense> to communities and individuals that didn't have easy access/money to do these activities)

Volunteer Taekwondo Instructor: 10 years/6hrs wk/Total 3000 hrs

Chair Member for Student Organization: 1 year/3 hrs wk/120hrs

Volunteer Nursing Assistant: 2 years/15hrs wk/1100 hrs
(included shadowing and rotations in 2 internal medicine clinics, 3 emergency rooms, urology, 2 outpatient surgery clinics, and 2 family practice locations)

Research: 2 years/5 hrs wk/600hrs total

Martial Artist: 17 years/2hrs wk/2000+ hours

I also worked full-time (40-65 hours/wk) my entire undergraduate career while taking 12-19 credits every semester.

I was a Nursing Assistant and Direct Care worker for 3 years/40hrs a week as well.

Side note- my mother died suddenly in car crash when I was 21. I'm not sure I should mention this, but it did cause considerable emotional strain my last 2 years of undergrad. I still managed all B's/some A's in my science classes my last two years though.

Thanks again!

Your entire application is actually quite impressive. You have some great research, clinical, and volunteer hours. Although your GPA is low, schools will take note of the fact that you worked full-time all throughout undergrad. I truly wish you the best of luck!

Thanks! I get nervous when I see other pre-meds ECs. It seems like they have a lot and I have only 6.
