For a US applicant, a 34 MCAT will compensate for a 3.3 cGPA for some of the least slective MD schools, but you still need to raise the BCPM GPA to demonstrate to adcomms that you'll thrive in their science-intense curriculum. I think the plan of staying in school for another year and taking a lot of science classes is a good one, but only if you get straight As. Any B you receive sets back your redemption efforts.

If you're in a hurry, if your MCAT doesn't turn out as stong as you need it to, or if your GPA repair efforts don't get you where you need to be, consider applying to some DO schools too, as they are more forgiving of past academic difficulty. Also, they only count the most recent grade when you retake, which can be highly effective in raising your GPA if you have a couple of really low grades (like the failed Physics class).

Thanks for the advice! It helped put things into perspective. :)
