Hey everyone, I have a 3.5 bcpm and got 9V 10BS 11PS (30 total, first and only time taking it) on the MCAT this August. I'm from California, graduating from UC Berkeley, and Indian (don't know how the "asian" card will play out). I have great EC's, clinical experience, research, and letters of rec. I was wondering what my chances are of getting accepted into ANY MD school in the country? I was originally planning on retaking the MCAT next spring, but I'll have a heavy load of classes and my senior thesis. I'm worried that I won't be able to study effectively and improve my score enough to make it worth it. Any suggestions? As of now I'm aiming for middle to bottom tier MD schools, but if I need a reality check because of my stats so far please let me know!

A well written application with those stats is likely to be successful.

Agreed.

The only thing I can say is that your stats are a little lower than the average but if the rest of your app is solid and if you apply broadly you should be fine for some MD programs. Probably wont hurt to apply to a few D.O. programs too. Good luck!

What's your overall GPA? In any way, you don't have to retake a nearly balanced 30. Apply broadly to MD schools as you planned but sprinkle in a few DO schools (but the DO is the alternative in case you don't have much luck).
