Hey guys! I'm a junior and really want to apply this cycle but am worried that my stats aren't strong enough.
I messed up super bad the first two years of college but finally decided to get my life together.
Started with 3.1 cGPA and 2.9 sGPA
Present: 3.5 cGPA/ 3.4 sGPA
Will take my MCAT in few months and estimating about 515
I don't know if this will make a difference, but I am also graduating early
ECs:
-Shadowing ~40 hours
-Volunteering at the hospital ~100 hours
-Volunteering at free clinic ~300 hours
-Summer Intern at a Red Cross Clinic in different country
-TA for Orgo
-Did psych research for a year (~150 hours) but no publications
-Not many leadership positions either (God I hate being shy) Financial Officer for an international student organization, a Site Leader for a volunteer mission
-Outside clinical experiences, I'm on a dance team and am a freelance writer
This is my potential school list (mainly close-by and low stats schools) but I need to cut it down by a lot.
Rosalind Franklin
EVMS (top choice)
USF
GTown
Wayne State
The Commonwealth Medical College
SUNY Buffalo
University of Maryland
Morehouse
Michigan State
GWU
University of New Mexico
VCU
Marshall University Joan C. Edwards
Virginia Tech
Cooper Medical School of Rowan University
Albany
UC Davis
Wake Forest
Florida state
Drexel
UNC-Chapel hill
Rutgers
University of Central Florida
Sidney Kimmel
University of Miami
So should I even bother applying this cycle? If so, what school should I cut/add from this list?
For those who actually read everything without rolling their eyes or sighing, thank you and I appreciate all your answers (please be as honest as possible! I can take it!)
