Looking for a bit of guidance on my list. Trying to aim strategically for 15 MD (FAP qualified) and a little lost with DO. I'd like to add 10 total since money will be an issue.

3.7 cGPA with 3.6 sGPA. MCAT 502 (124/126/125/127). URM (AA). First generation immigrant and college grad.
Have one class II misdemeanor (driving without a license) and one civil case related to being placed into deportation proceedings (aged out of greencard app, case dismissed and permanent resident now). FL resident. VA ties.

• 9k+h of scribing with 5 honors. Co-wrote training materials for ER and Vascular.
• 150h stem Ophtho research (part of a 300h total Ophtho internship with independent patient workups)
• 100h volunteering ER
• 300h non-clinical volunteering in animal shelter, leadership positions in Eta Sigma Gamma, National Health Education Honor Society, and Student Government
• EC's: published short stories author. Co-write and edit graphic novel series.

You are competitive for all the DO schools on your list. For MD you could add Meharry and Eastern Virginia. Also Nova may be opening a MD school for 2018.

Thank you! I completely forgot Meharry and will add that. Eastern VA was a toss up for me based their OOS screen of 3.45 sGPA and 508/509 MCAT (saw it on the 2016-2017 thread).
