I have a 3.79 undergraduate GPA (~3.7 science) with a double major in Spanish and Biochemistry. My MCAT score is 30S (11 bio, 10 physical, 9 verbal). I'm a member of the Honors College at my university as well as the Pre-Med Society and Spanish Club. I've also been doing lab research for the past 3 years and have contributed to posters and publications, and I've also presented my work at an international conference. Unfortunately, I don't have any clinical experience other than 8 days spent in Costa Rica and Nicaragua working in medical clinics, but this is because I work about 60-70 hours a week between 2 jobs. I have, however, done a lot of other volunteering (campus activities, church, etc).

Where might I have a chance of scoring an interview?? Thanks for all your input!

I'm just wondering if I should bother with any top tier medical schools. I've applied at my in-state schools (UMich, MSU, Wayne) as well as the following:

Boston University
Drexel
George Washington
Georgetown
Jefferson Medical Coll.
Johns Hopkins (long shot, I know!)
Medical College of Wisconsin
New York Medical College
Penn State
Temple
Tulane

Are there any others that you think I should add to this list to make my selection more broad where I might be a competitive applicant?

Hey I'm basically in the same position as you, 3.8, 30Q (9VR, 9PS, 12BS). I'm a New Mexico resident though.

My list:
UNM
University of Oklahoma (did undergrad at an OK university- strong ties, etc.)
George Washington
Tulane
Loyola
Creighton
Virginia Commonwealth
U. South Florida

I'm also open to suggestion regarding adding some more OOS friendly schools.

Ojohombre, with a 3.79/30, I'd have suggested you consider schools like these:

Loyola, RFU, UKentucky, Creighton, Albany, SUNY Downstate, Hofstra (new), Jefferson, MCW,
UIllinois, Wayne, Buffalo, Toledo, Drexel, Temple, Vermont, VCU, Virginia Tech Carilion (new),
GWU, FIU, Louisville, Tulane, NYMC, MUSC, SCarolina, EVMS,
Rush, Michigan State, Oakland (new),

and just to mention, USF is in IfeelYourPain's range but takes less than 10% OOS (7.5%).

Ah thanks cat... oh well about USF lol. I think I'm going to add vermont and toledo tomorrow... but, in all honesty, I'm really just hoping my state school (UNM) will be an easy acceptance.
