• 1000+ clinical volunteer hours
  • Trauma
    • Helping move pts, retrieving stuff for interns + helping when needed (during rounds, etc.)
    • 300 hours, done on weekends from last summer to now)
  • Cancer clinic
    • Assisting pts in movement (for example bringing to bathroom), restocking nurses cabinets, pt intake.
    • 700+ hours, done 5 days a week last summer, slowed down to Fridays during this past school year
    • Unsure where to place (Clinical or non-clinical?): Started food bank with social worker for cancer clinic, done alongside other duties. Still going on to this day + expanded (Spreadsheet of usage stats available upon request)
• 300+ non-clinical volunteering hours
  • Lung Cancer Screening outreach to low SES communities --> Presentations at churches, mosques, and set up large scale event at nursing home
• 300 shadowing hours
  • 150 hours with radiology
  • 100 hours with endocrinology
  • 50 hours with trauma (watching in OR)

  • 2021: 1st prize Case report at conference, mid author publication of case report with local hospital
  • 2022-2023: MRI Deep Learning research volunteer @ WCMC
  • 2023-2024: Remote AI research volunteer at MGH
    • 2 posters, conference accepted for both, mid author
  • 2024-now: Full-Time Analyst at Langone, promotion expected next year
    • 1 review primary author (Not sure if counts as pub)
    • 1 poster, conference accepte primary author (Also unsure if this matters)
    • Intend to publish more later this year (Lot of data engineering this summer etc.)

Why do you want to be a physician? Why are you "settling" for medical school? Why didn't you add "DO" to your statement about being happy to get MD anywhere?

When you say "starting a food bank for a cancer clinic," what did you do? Your description places this activity as "leadership" in my mind. Lung cancer screening outreach is a clinic-adjacent non-clinical activity, but you could also be doing this to enroll subjects in clinical research too. To be safe, you need 150 hours of non-clinical service orientation activities when you submit your application (anticipated hours don't count): food distribution, shelter volunteer, job/tax preparation, legal support, transportation services, housing rehabilitation.
