I'm taking 3 courses this semester, even though 1 is only a real heavy duty workload course. How bad will that look when I apply? I just want to get straight A's this semster to compensate for the couple of B's I've gotten in science subjects in the past. Will I really be frowned upon for this? Thoughts?

It depends on the number of credit hours; if it's a full time courseload, you should be fine.

You may be looked upon as a part-time student. So you may need to explain yourself if asked at any point during the med school app process.

But I'm a full-time student who just messed up really badly this semester..so I have to lie that I was part-time?

What? I have no idea what your question here is.

It seems like you are full time(credit-wise). Don't worry, then. Full time is full time. It doesn't matter if your take pottery 100,101, and 103 as long as you are full time and taking classes towards your major or GECs. I have stacked all my GECS into the past two quarters in order to study for the MCAT and I know tons of people who did the same thing and received no flack. No worries.
