hi friends... ill appreciate if any 1 of u could help me in finding the colleges which offer a 3yr study... i do know that NYUCD does... any more ... plz help.....

university of pacific in san francisco does.

my question is: when so many people are talking about extending dental school to five years (such as with the state of New York and requiring residencies) how can a three-year school still exist? how can these schools possibly find the time to give students the didactics AND clinical experience necessary to be competent?

not that i think they can't, i just can't imagine cramming my four-year experience into three.

i have a guy in my residency that went to UPAC for the three-year school and i love to give him a hard time. anytime he asks a question, i tell him, "That is something you learn in your fourth year of dental school!"

trust me being in school year round with no break makes you extremely competent in your skills. where else can you start endo, do crown and bridge and extractions in the beginning of 2nd year.

from the several that i've known (from UOP) they are extremely lacking in clinical skills and practical/useful clinical knowledge.
