Hi,
Has anyone here had to sign a contract for 3 years or are they supposed to be renewed every year? In my contract it clearly stated that the resident is commited from July 1st 2004 to june 30th 2007....... my dilemma is what if things don't work out or you decide to change the specialty, or you are misarable there, etc. and you want to leave after the 1st year, what then...... could they sue you or worst yet make sure you never get a residency anywhere else for leaving before the 3 year contract expires...... not that I'm planning on leaving my residency, but from what I've heard most places renew their contracts every year...... any advice would be appreciated.
