You should really look over in the Reapplicants forum. I think there was a thread over there recently with the same question. Actually several threads, but most of them were just told to look at the first one.

(By your criteria of "waitlists aren't rejections" maybe I don't count, b/c I had three waitlists -- but none of them came through in the end, so the end result of having to reapply was the same).

I said that when people were still on waitlists. Getting waitlisted and then ending up with all rejections is the same as all rejections. Probably worse because they drag it out. I was just talking about people who posted earlier in the year complaining how they didn't get accepted but were on 5-6 waitlists, when some of us knew we were out of the game long ago. Good luck to everyone going for round two against the Champ (AKA admission committees).

Well this is a thread for people who haven't been accepted anywhere and would kill for even just one acceptance. And this guy comes in a posts about not wanting to go to a school he got into. I just gave the type of reply I thought his post deserved 🙄.

Kazema's got my back. That was a perfect reply.

I also hate the people who come on these threads and explain what they did to get into the 50 schools they got accepted to. Let us rejectees whine in peace!

I'm applying now with a 37Q and a 3.9xx, but only one summer of polymer research, 1 summer of full-time tutoring for disadvantaged incoming freshmen, 1 year TA-ing, and a job in a hospital which I got a month ago and which is my only medically related EC. So, as you might imagine, this thread has me feeling rather screwed.

Looking on the bright side, maybe the above posters had sub-par personal statements or nose-rings in during their interviews....

Well your numbers put most of them to shame. You have some research and medical experience, yes? Yes. So, I would not worry.

Your application on paper as it is will get you an interview at any school (provided of course your personal statement is at least okay, and by that I mean you actually talked about how you want to go to medical school at some point, and didn't threaten anyone), and may even intimidate some schools into not interviewing you because they know you wouldn't ever go to their school.

All you have to do now is be half coherent on your secondaries and then not offend anyone during your interview, and you'll get in at some really awesome schools. You are in a better position than about 99% of pre-meds.

Sorry...didn't mean to annoy anyone. And thanks to the above poster for the encouragement. I exaggerated a bit about how "screwed" I feel; just wanted to convey how impressive many applicants' lists of extracurriculars seem to me.
