I'm in knots trying to decide if I should push back my exam. Last practice score was a 207 taken about 3 weeks ago. I still have 4 chapters of First Aid to finish and haven't yet touched Uworld but I only have about 4 weeks to my test date. I had wanted this final 4 weeks as protected uworld and 2nd pass time and so I'm frustrated that this didn't go according to plan.

I can push my test back 2 more weeks, and if I do that, then I could safely finish up my last 4 chapters of First Aid and have 4 solid weeks of UWorld and review, plus time to actually take another practice test. But doing this would likely require rearranging my entire 3rd year. I'm interested in internal medicine/sub specialties and right now, I have my medicine rotation towards the end of 3rd year which I've heard is good, since you'll presumably be top of your game then (and highest chance for a good grade). If I push my test back though, I think I'll end up having to take medicine as my first or maybe 2nd rotation.

I have no idea what's best at this point. Would be incredibly grateful for any advice you all have about this.

Thanks. I forgot to mention that I'm aiming for a 230 in case that affects advice from anyone else.

Does anyone know if there's much truth to the "better grade if you do medicine later" rumor?

IMO you need to start UWorld asap. It is the most important study tool and, if you use it properly, it takes a LONG time to review answers/explanations. Just push yourself, do as many questions a day as you can, and if you're a week or 2 out still and doesn't look like you'll be able to finish then postpone your test. It's stressful and sucks but do what ya gotta do to meet your goal.
God Bless!
