I would appreciate some advice

Im planning to take the dat in 3-4 weeks

I finished chads videos Twice with notes, did the quizzes
Im 1/3 through destroyer I do 30 gen, 30 orgo questions and 40 bio questions per day and go over my wrong answers (THIS TAKES SO LONG)

I did not even start QR yet and I have been doing PAT almost every day for 10-20 minutes using the Bootcamp generators (Is this the way to study?)

I did one RC test without studying strategies on bootcamp and got an 18 so I am putting that off for now

I feel very overwhelmed because I feel like a lot of the concepts of gen chem did not stick with me at all
Currently averaging 10-16 questions right per 30 in gen chem destroyer
15-17 questions right per 30 in orgo destroyer
20-23 questions right per 30 in bio destroyer

I wake up at 9:30 every day and do dat destroyer until 3-5 and then play with PAT before bed.

Is there a better way to study? Should I study bio only every 2 days and do twice the amount of gen chem?

Thank you

Destroyer takes like 2 weeks if you do 100 problems a day and make flash cards and stuff. I thought I was taking a very long time too but w4nttobeadds told me I was going at a standard rate. Might take you a little longer or shorter depending on how many you miss

What exactly do you make the flashcards on?

I did something semi unconventional. I made standard flash cards for ochem for anything I missed or anything I wasn't 100% at (even if I got the right answer). For bio I made a word doc of stuff I wasn't 100% at as well and transferred it to quizlet using their import thing. This is because bio had way more info that takes much longer to write, and it would also result in too many flash cards to bring around. Also, quizlet has an offline mode which is pretty nifty. For Genchem I just put questions into the back of my chad video spiral with a line below the question separating question and answer to test myself. I probably could have done flashcards for genchem too but not a big deal. All in all, my word document is 60 pages (in table form though) so I'm glad I typed those notes.

At this point, you are finished with all the materials. I really think you just need to solidify it or something because that's what I did before starting on the Destroyer. What I did was did all 350-400 questions of Chad's Quizzes in less than 3 hours.

For the quizzes, I created the option of receiving an instant feedback of which questions I got wrong. I would go through the questions thoroughly for like 50-100 questions, and after that you will start noticing that most of the problems became repetitive. For example, you will find that you might end up calculating the pH of the solution like 10x. I would just do about 2-3, and if I get all of them correct, then I skip the problem and move forward. If you are planning to skip the problem to save time like i did, I highly suggest you to mentally solve the problem, press view solution, and move on to the next question if your thought process is right. It should take you about 10 seconds for each problem if you mentally solve them and view solution, but if you have not ever encountered the problem within the 50-100 questions, then you should actually solve them.

There are some exception questions when you are doing Chad's quizzes, so don't skip over those e.g. electron configuration of Mo, pH of H2SO4 in aqueous solution, or anything of that nature.

After you do the quizzes, you should have a solid background of chemistry.

Also, I agree with the above poster about doing many questions a day. Right now, I am doing 60 questions of organic, 60 of general chemistry, and 80 questions of biology per day. Once you push yourself everyday, it gets easier. Any questions I get wrong, I circle them at the back of the book so that I can look at it on my spare time throughout the week. This will ensure that you focus on your WEAKNESS and make them become your strength. Once you figure out your weakness, you quickly glance your organic/general chem/biology notes to see why you got it wrong.

As when you should schedule your DAT, I think you should schedule it mid August I think. Goodluck!

thanks I think I will redo the quizzes that makes sense

How long does it take you to finish 30/40 questions and go over it? Im assuming ur studying for 6+ hours to get all of that done

Yep I hit them in batches like 40 30 30 and finished in 2 weeks. took me about 6 hours I believe. I was following W4nttobeadds's breakdown for the destroyer portion. But if you run through it again it takes like 4 days probably.
