Hello everyone,

I am a PGY-3 OMS resident at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and we are working on a research project exploring:
  • OMS applicants, OMS residents and OMS graduates' preference on the 2 available residency tracks.
  • Reasons why one track might be more appealing than the other prior to matriculation.
  • Whether there is a correlation between the track choice and career choice.
  • The demographic of each residency track among applicants, residents and graduates.
In order to do so, we have created a short online survey that ranges between 9 and 18 questions (depending on the participant's current position) and can be completed within 5 minutes.

Dental students or dental graduates interested in applying to oral and maxillofacial surgery are invited to participate as you will provide the most up to date information on applicants' preference and reasons.

The knowledge gained will provide a better understanding of the landscape of our specialty in regard to this subject. We believe this is particularly relevant in light of recent match results.

Completing the survey is voluntary and neither completing nor declining to complete the survey will affect your position as an OMS applicant, resident or graduate. This questionnaire is completely anonymous (no login required, no email tracking). Please only complete it ONCE.

Feel free to share this survey with any OMS applicant, OMS resident or OMS graduate.

Thank you all very much and we look forward to your responses!
