Hello everyone! I just finished with orientation and have realized it is all so cliquey. People had made a group me and attended pre events and I’m assuming that’s how they were made. I made some friends during orientation but feel like I’m an outcast, or an add on friend. I really don’t even care about friends if I’m going to be honest, I have so many outside of school. I want to be included when getting quizlets and any other study materials but feel like they’ll only share w close friends. Any advice?

Don’t think about it too much. How do you expect them to be friends with you if you haven’t introduced yourself and tried to get to know them?

I agree with Ivy.ch, don't worry about it!

Dental school is a long journey. A lot of the people I talked to during orientation grew distant, and I continuously got close to new people throughout school. Just focus on doing your best and being yourself and you’ll make friends! I didn’t go to any orientation events and made some of my best friends during school. You’ll be fine!

Im a D3 and let me tell you, some friend groups who were super cliquey during orientation week dont even speak to each other now. You'll find your group! One of my best friends is someone I would have never thought I would like, but I can't imagine life without them. Give it time, dont put too much pressure on yourself and you'll go where you naturally fit in
