So a weeks ago I started my 6 month plan of reading 10-15pgs of FA and 30-40 questions a day. So far, I am averaging ~40%. I am doing all my questions 'randomized' and am wondering if this is a good way to start out? Is this terrible average normal for someone in the beginning stages? (I'm a top 10%er in my class, so averages this low freak me out)

Think about it. Step1 is largely pathology/pharmacology. In school, you have roughly learned only half of each of those subjects so far (assumedly). I wouldn't expect you to do much better than that right now. What is important is that 1.) you learn from the questions you've done so far and 2.) your scores start improving as you study more.

It is way too early for you to freak out. Don't worry.

You need to do USMLE Rx first alongside your FA reading.

UWorld should be saved for last. I'd start UWorld ~2.5-3 months before your exam. You don't want to exhaust the valuable UWorld questions early in your prep.

This is also a good point. I used Kaplan along with FA and saved uworld for the end.

I was doing testweapon (I know it is < Rx) and was scoring in the 70%. I felt like their questions and answer explanations were lacking, which is why i switched to UW

I plan on doing UW once, and then do my wrong answers once, and then do the whole thing again

Thoughts?

If you've got time go ahead and try Rx before starting UWorld. In my experience Rx was a good companion to FA and also gives you a bit of insight into how the questions might look. Plus it makes UWorld look much more interesting.
