Cheer up,

Some one posted on one of the other threads that they had a 340 on both forms and wound up with a 200+

i'd postpone for 3 weeks or so. i know someone who got either a 370 or 390 the week before on form 2 and scored a 180 on the exam the following week

I scored around 340 on the NBME form 1 less than a week before my exam date and I scored 211...it kinda depends on what you're aming for. If the score spooked you it may be best to postpone and regroup to regain perspective. If you are fairly confident in what you know then postponing will only undermine your confidence. Whatever the case I'm sure that you will do well whenever you take the exam...

I made 380 (186) on both NBME A and B. I felt 'ok' about the real thing. I hope Im one of the people that makes a 200+ when their practice tests were low. 😱

3 weeks ago, I scored a 238 (590) on form 1. I just got done finishing form 2 and I scored a 219 (500). How can I drop almost 20 points 4 days before my exam. What should I do? I'm toast. Help, I need advice.

Read First Aid cover to cover. You'll be fine. There's a huge standard deviation and error of the mean on those predictor exams.

Pox, thanks for the advice. I pretty much did what you suggested. I took the exam today and felt fine about it. Thanks a lot.

Hope folks are still reading these threads...
The NBME CBSSA curse continues

same here, i took the form 2 yesterday and got a 420 (198). test is less than a week away. hoping for 200+, actually just hoping for a pass.

I scored a 460 twice (nbme 1 and 2) and scored a 233/94 on the real thing.

second nbme is harder than the first. Dont put all your faith in those nbme scores. The real thing is different. Its twice as long and you have no idea what focus your test will take.

People have come out with scores lower than they're nbme exams, with scores higher or scores right around their nbme score.

Basically, trust yourself. If you've come this far, 2 days or 2 weeks of cramming isn't going to change a whole lot. Better to stick to your guns than to postpone indefinatly, cause in the end, you're just going to end up forgetting what you learned a few weeks ago.

Towards the end, its best to concentrate on what you know rather than what you dont know.

nbme 1 at the begining of January, nbme #2 about 2-3 weeks before the real thing.

I pretty much gave up studying the week of the exam. Spent most of time doing questions or browsing the web at the UTHSCSA med library.
