Health Professions Advisors:

Last Monday, May 16, the AADSAS 2006 application became available online.
Here we are just one week later, and more than 4,000 individuals have
already created online accounts to initiate their AADSAS applications.
Nearly 300 applications have already been submitted! As you will recall,
we have begun transcript verification as part of the service that AADSAS
provides this year, so we are off to a fast start receiving official
transcripts. We are also receiving large numbers of letters of
recommendation. It appears that the cycle is getting off to a very fast
start, and that applicants have heeded our calls to “apply early.”

We invite you to go to the AADSAS website ( www.adea.org/aadsas ) and
create an application to become more acquainted with the many robust new
features that we implemented this cycle. If you do so, we recommend that
you use TEST as a part of your username (that way we won’t process your
application!).

If you have questions about AADSAS, don’t hesitate to contact Chonte James,
Director of AADSAS ( [email protected] ) or me. Applicants with questions
should contact ADEA Customer Service at 800-353-2237, 202-289-8123, or

The title is deceiving. There are not 4000 applicants; there are only 300 so far. 4000 people have created a username. Even I created a username last year with no intention of applying.

4000 already, I'm sure everyone who made an account intends to apply eventually. I'm betting that the total number of applicants this year will be around 12,000. Alot of my pre-med friends have caught on to dentistry, and are switching. And these are guys who can easily get an acceptance to a UC med-school. Looks like I'll have to apply again next year.

That is not true, not everyone who made an account will apply. this might choose to wait and apply next year. Only applications submitted are counted. so far the number is 300, which is still a big start for only a week or so.

I am one of the 300. I got mine in first thing. I applied in October last year. Got interviewed at IUSD but it was a little late. My friend went to apply just a week after I did and they told him not to bother, even though the deadline was months away.
