Hey guys,

Was really hoping for a score above 510 for the MCAT. I scored a 499 (127/122/126/124) on my first AAMC Practice Test 1 today. My test is in less than two weeks, should I void or keep trying to improve till the test date and submit?

Can't say whether or not you should void, because that it is up to. If you are being realistic, it will be very difficult to jump 10 points by test date.

I noticed that your P/S is a little low. This section is really just memorization and application of terms. I used this document Dropbox - Khan Notes - Simplify your life and scored 129 on the section. That may help your score a bit, but you would really need to bring up others sections. 🙁

Yeah looking tough 🙁. Thanks for your help!

I'll try to study psych more and will write another one in a week and see my progress from there.
Do you think going through Uworld psych would be enough?

Don't have much time to go over the doc

I wouldn't be able to offer advice on that. I used Kaplan's P/S book and that 300 page document.

Also keep in mind that a September MCAT is probably too late for this cycle (MD and DO)...

Push your test date to January. If you don't get your goal score at least once or twice on AAMC fls, then you should postpone.

Yep was planning on applying next cycle!

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I'll try next week and if I don't get it, then I'll postpone it.
Would it look bad if I did it anyways and then if it doesn't go well try again Jan? Or would it just be better to void?

Planning on applying to both MD and DO btw
