hey guys. Any input would be appreciated. So I had a little panic attack during the bio section of the mcat. Got a 511: 128/128/123/132 with a 3.79 overall GPA, 3.69 science GPA. 1500 hours of paid clinical work, great EC, good letters.

It really is just my bio score is pulling me down. I have a retake date set for July 9th but as I am applying June 7th, I'm not sure whether they'll care that much after initial screening of me. I plan to apply to all Florida schools, like 6 lower tier medical schools, and 6/7 DO schools. I want to go into Peds so I'm not picky honesty. Do I have a shot of getting in anywhere even with that Bio score or will I be screened out immediately?

Don't bother applying with a Bio score like that.

I'd reject you outright figuring you didn't learn anything in Bio.

Get those test anxiety issues fixes or you'll never get through med school. We're addicted to high stakes exams.

Even if I were to improve significantly in bio during the retake? I know test results wouldn't come until August but you don't think they would hold off on a decision until seeing my new results even for DO schools? Lowest I had gotten during practice exams was a 127, so really think it was a fluke from anxiety (which I'll obviously control my **** better)

@Goro is 123 in bio that bad for DO schools even if the total score is above average for DO? (For example, around 505+?)
I'm pretty sure a 123 is the equivalent of a 6 on the old exam, which is a death sentence, especially for bio. Most of med school is based around biology, so that is the category that gets the least leeway

The current percentile ranks have a 123 in B/BC as 33 percentile. The historic mcat before 2015 had a score of 7 as a 25 percentile and a 6 as an 18 percentile. A current 123 in biology section equates to a historic 7-8 or a 7.5.
