I actually think it's better to be short than too long (not that my posts would necessarily reflect that :wink: ), you want to get your main point across and not get lost in excessive detail, after all...and I think they appreciate an essay that says what it wants to say simply, without rambling and babbling...but you also don't want it to be so short that it looks like you don't have that much to say. My friend who's in told me that "every word should have a purpose," and I'm trying to stick to that. I'd say, think about whether there's anything you'd like to talk about that you didn't add to the essay, but if it's not coming naturally or sounds/feels forced, it's better to leave it out.
