Is it possible to obtain a grant (or scholarship) from medical schools during the medical school portion of an OMFS residency?
Sure, but these scholarships tend to be built into the program structure. This is different from the traditional medical school route where schools will actively offer scholarships to attract top students.
Saying that, some programs have extremely cheap medical tuition. Oregon gives you a full ride, Texas schools are usually under 20k/year. Louisville used to be free, but now it's still cheap at under 20k/year. Many schools will give you in-state tuition.
Also, there's nothing stopping you from applying for grants and scholarships while you are enrolled in medical school.
So, do you receive a financial aid package from the medical school upon acceptance into the residency program?or do you have to wait until medical school years of residency?
Curious how this works... do you take out loans while being paid a stipend during med school years?
