$745 over here. Wife $1056. Looks like lots of hamburger helper at the Cartman house

Wow, I am a DO student and I thought I had it bad by having to pay an extra $60 for my COMLEX transcript...

My grand total was only $241 (17 categorical IM programs).

got you all beat by at least a thousand bucks. so sad. coulda bought a used buick lesabre.

wow, why so expensive? How many programs are you all applying to/what fields, if you don't mind my asking?

I'm sitting at $455 right now and thought that was a lot. Maybe I should apply to more!

Couples matching EM (me) and Gas (her). Each applying to 40+ programs, plus she's doing 10 TY's and 25 prelim surg. Still cheaper than derm.

You got that right. Damage done last year = ~$2300 on ERAS alone. Only to end up matching right @ home. Still worth it IMHO 😛

my damage was so high, Credit Card came calling saying we detected FRAUD!!!

$1280 for me, $810 for my husband.

Why do the prices have to go UP the more applications you submit?? 😡

To discourage applying to everything available... wasting time, and potential spots for those really interested. But yes, if you shell out the money, you can still do this...

I know!!! I was about to say YES YES YES its all fraud, get my money back! ha ha

Yeah I know. It just makes it tougher for couples matchers and those going into more competitive fields. But I understand it. Hopefully it'll be worth it for all of us.

just crossed the 2G mark myself.

ramen noodles? hamburger helper?

at this point i'll take matching over eating. fortunately for me i've accumulated a nice thick layer of fat over the past year to sustain myself until i get my first paycheck.

I just keep justifying it to myself by saying it's got to be cheaper than going through this all over again next year, if I don't match.

How much does it cost to apply to each program?

Lazy bastard...

I know, wtf? I hate when people get on here and ask **** they could easily look up themselves. How can you go through medical school yet still not know how to attain information you want on any particular topic. This is actually a big pet peeve of mine, as I fail to understand why people fail to put forth the smallest of effort toward something seemingly important to them.

I was wondering about MrBurns comment above that it costs more if you apply to more programs. I just see a total estimate on my application- not an itemized list, and I couldn't really tell how much each individual program costs or how much the cost goes up if you apply for more than the typical number of programs.

Right, because you are too ******ed to google "eras fee" and immediately arrive at this?

http://www.aamc.org/students/eras/feesbilling/start.htm

That takes less time and effort than posting on here!

one of my best friends is like this. It drives me crazy. He'll call me up asking me what in the world the MSPE is, which, had he just opened up the template the school sent us, he would have known. He hasn't investigated anything with externships and LORs or anything, just always calls me for all the information. I told him he needs to try doing a little smidgen of research for once since I'm not going to be in residency with him to hold his hand. Grrr.

Applied to 89 IM programs and spent a total of 1830 US$.
Regards!

dude, why the incessant hostility? Wouldn't it be easier to just ignore the post altogether than to post something mean? Or is it that you want to help, but can't do so without taking a jab at someone along with it?

Chill. Seriously. You'll live longer.

Maybe go get the metanephrines checked. Maybe a pheo brewing?
