I notice it was written in 2003. Do you consider it fairly well up to date?

it is up to date as of 4 yrs ago.

The terms "up to date" and "textbook" tend to be mutually exclusive.

I imagine it is about as up to date as possible.

For instance, I haven't looked, but I doubt you will see much about Flomax in the section on kidney stones.

(next somebody will tell me which page it is on) 😀

Thanks for your replies...

What I meant was that, some fields there isn't much change going on (ie, I compared my CMDT in Internal medicine from 2003 to 2006 and there weren't many changes)

I would think the management in EM is changing quite a bit. So I wouldn't want to use some management tool from a text and be frowned upon for using something outdated (which has happened once already).

Okay, my real question is... When's the 7th coming out????

As a newly minted author (yippee, and again tooting my own horn), I wrote the bulk of the text in 2003. It was just printed in January of 2007!

Yeah, and too bad Barnes and Noble isn't carrying it yet, so I can get it. You see, I get a discount through them. 👍

Judy's book is probably up to date as of 2001 since it takes 2 years for it to get published.

Anyone know when the 7th edition will be published?
