I'm not sure if there is already one, but I couldn't find any.

I'm about 1 month into studying but just did the EK PS 30 min exam. The microscopes and lenses caught me off guard =/

How is everyone else doing?

regarding the 9/2 people possibly haveing got their scores a day late...I don't think so, but I can't really verify because I don't think the score release date schedule for 2010 is even up still...

I woke up at 6:30 today, which is the earliest I have woken up since the MCAT. The wait is killing me especially since I think I really screwed up. I guess we will all know in about 2-3 hours.

There better not be a delay. Us 9/9 people already had a "delay" by default since we got clumped with the 9/11 test. This would be salt on our wounds!

This post is directed towards the guy sitting at the AAMC offices in Washington, with your finger on the RELEASE SCORE TO ANXIOUS PRE-MEDS Button.
PUSH THE DAMN BUTTON ALREADY!!!!!!

This is killing me, slowly, but surely.

Ha ha. I have been unable to focus all day! I do nothing but check the forums, and check the AAMC website, ad nauseam. Just post them already!

I hope you used the phrase ad nauseam in your WS. That's definitely T material!

but no... seriously... POST THEM ALREADY.

I know they lurk these boards. I know someone on the inside who says they've got specific people to scourge the net and report violations of MCAT examinee agreement. So, to whoever reading this... please post them.... now?

i was checking online between each class. Figured the people in the room would be startled when scores were posted and i screamed "YEAH!!!".... or "F***!!!" lol

Omg i got a 33Q should i retake?

VR: 8
PS:11
BS: 14
Q

My verbal was a solid 10-11 on AAMC practice tests, I don't know how this happened?

This is bittersweet.

i have a 3.5 gpa although im not graduated so i have time to bring it up a little bit. Do i have a shot at MD? Upward trend here.
Is 8 too low ? will schools screen me?

Yep they're up and I'm so satisfied! This is my second time taking it after a MAJOR flop in july.
Original Score:
July 2010: VR-6/PS-7/BS-10/WS-O...[23O] This was a shock to me because this was basically my diagnostic score so it sucked that I got no where near what I knew I was capable of. I guessed I was just incredibly nervous so I signed up for the next exam 3 weeks after I got these first scores in August.

sooooo

Sept 2010: VR-9/PS-11/BS-10/WS-Q... [30Q] I'm so content right now! a 7 point improvement is just what I needed because I knew I could score a 30 the first time, but I spazzed out instead.

I guess the AAMC practice tests were a lot of help. If you don't get the score you wanted, don't fret. If verbal is your weakness, just keep practicing! I used the Kaplan 45 book to help me fine tune some problems in my VR technique and voalah! 3pt improvement in 3 weeks!

34Q

PS 13
VR 11
WS - Q
BS 10

A little below my practice tests, but its well balanced so I guess I'm satisfied. Not taking it again, that's for surrrrre 🙂

Congratulations everyone. The big long wait is finally over.

I'd say mine was worth the wait. Nothing too impressive, but it's over the minimums of the schools that I've applied for. As long as my application doesn't get cancelled, I'm happy!

PS: 12
VR: 9
BS: 12
WS: Q

this was my 2nd time writing.
The first time was:

PS: 10
VR: 5
BS: 12
WS: Q

I **** you not, I did get a 5 in the VR. That's what happens when you blindly guess on every single question. I'm surprised my luck was even that good.

This time around, I managed to answer 5 out of the 7 passages confidently, and had to blindly guess on two. Thankfully, I still managed to scrap the minimum 9 that I needed for my schools. I'm also happy that my score for PS went up, and that my scores for BS and WS didn't go down. Hoorah!

Wishing the best of luck for everyone!

PS-11
VR-08
BS-11

Composite - 30M

Not sure if I should retake since my AAMC Average is 31.2.

Good luck everyone.

VR-9
PS-10
BS-11

Composite - 30M

Dang, way below my avg. practice scores. oh well. Congrats everyone!!!!!

Not sure if I should retake since my AAMC Average is 31.2.

if you have time, i would try to bump up the verbal. your sciences are solid for sure though.

i just got my score:
12P 11V 14B = 37Q.

i'm pretty excited, considering this is my second time taking it. my aamc average was 35 after taking 8 tests. gotta have faith that you can do better.

Alright!

PS: 10
VS: 10
W: M
BS: 13

Total: 33M

I'm really happy with this score! It's probably not the best I can do but it's competitive enough I can focus on the other parts of my application. Woohoo!

My guess is (a rough idea): PS 9-12 ; VR 8-10 ; BS 8-11 ; WS N-P

If i can break 30, im calling this test done forever!

PS 10 , VR 6! (what?!), BS 10.
Dammit! couldnt believe I did that bad on the VR (never got that low on my practices), didn't break 30, ill be taking it again later.

Hate this!

Dammit, one more 10 and I could i've been done forever......... Screw you verbal reasoning!

If you don't mind, I was wondering what score your first time around was. thanks.

does an 8 in verbal automatically screen you out for U.S Osteopathic schools?

No, it doesn't.

It just depends. LECOM-Erie considers at least a 24 to be competitive, others require at least a 6 in each section (ex. RVUCOM). It would be to your advantage to look at the website or email their counselors of the schools you're most interested in.

I've read that I shouldn't retake an 8 in Vr because most cutoffs are at 8 and because an overall score of 30+ is a solid mcat score.

But i was wondering if that was really the case? I don't want to have to retake this test because of an 8 in verbal while risking the 33 i got. Since I don't think i'll do substantially better on a retake IE 35+. And I have no clue if i can even get a 10 on verbal, the practice tests i could but the real deal seems to be a little more difficult..

I am extremely ecstatic.

If you visit page 5 and read my post. I was aiming for about a 30, having achieved only a 30 once on my practice AAMCs it was a long shot for me but I kept the hope alive.

AAMC #5: 26 (BS 10 / PS 8 / VR 8)

AAMC #6: 27 (BS 8 / PS 11 / VR 8)

AAMC #7: 30 (BS 11 / PS 11 / VR 8)

AAMC #8: 26 (BS 9 / PS 10 / VR 7)

AAMC #9: 29 (BS 10 / PS 11 / VR 8)

AAMC #10: 27 (BS 10 / PS 10 / VR 7)

Real MCAT: 31O (BS 11 / PS 11 / VR 9)

Congrats on your score! My average was a 31. I ended up scoring a 30.

Where are the Underdogs in this thread ???

Come on people !! you are really freaking me out .... not even an underdog yet ???

Terrible

Hmmm I dunno about my score;

BS- 9 (LAME)
VR- 10 (SO relieved I got in the double digits)
PS- 12

Composite: 31O

So I have a 3.86 gpa from ucla. I'm not sure if I have a shot in the CA med schools though with a 31O. Do you guys have any opinions?

I was averaging around a 33-34 on the practice tests

CONGRATS ON THE SCORES THOUGH =D

I think you have a solid, well balanced score. Considering your high gpa, you definitely have a shot at a school in CA.

btw, what was your major at ucla?

Congrats on your score! My average was a 31. I ended up scoring a 30.

thank you very much, congrats on your score as well.

I'm really glad I won't have to re-study. I actually set out my MCAT books back on my desk the night before as a way to ease the transition back into that way of life had my score not been where I needed it to be. Super stoked and grateful.
