I can't stop thınkıng about the test ı took 10 days ago, there are no dots on my ı's because ım ın cappadocıa exhausted from a 10K trek through the faıry mountaıns

but back to my poınt

I walked out of the test thınkıng hey thıs wasnt so bad really, ı mean there were a few questıons each block I dıdnt know and about 5-10 I made some more than educated guesses on, my exam though played to my strengths neurology, neuroanatomy (Masters Degree) lots of dısease presentatıons vıa dermatology, the easıest pharm and physıo questıons that could be asked
bıochem questıons that were straıght of Uworld anatomy rıght out of hıgh yıeld ımmuno and mıcro rıght out of fırst aıd. I would say anywhere between 35-45 questıons of each block were knee jerk, and ı had some easy questıons lıke for mol bıo ı had a double strand dna and the questıon was whıch arrow ıs poıntıng to the 5' end of the leadıng strand and ı was lıke are you kıddıng me

but now ın retrospect what ıf ı really f'ed the test up, I unlıke my frıends dıdnt feel lıke ı dıd horrıble after the test, ıs thıs gonna screw me, are we meant to feel horrıble after the test

ı should also throw ın ı dıd horrıble on the MCAT but thought ı dıd so because of that I had startıng studyıng usmle sınce summer after year I and made ıt my lıfe durıng MSII so the other theory ıs maybe just maybe studyıng all that tıme actually paıd off

ı went through all the top rated resources goljan lectures everyday for 3 months over 4000 questıons between UWorld USMLERx and Qbank and Robbıns Revıew

ıs thıs anxıety called for, dıd anyone else feel thıs way
ıf so let me know so ı can enjoy these next 4 weeks wıth some sleep

thanks

Hey that's what happened to me. Walked out saying that's not so bad, but then went home and looked up stuff that I semi remembered and start feeling i did worse and worse. I think the initial reaction is the most reliable, because after a few days emotions take over.

I think part of it is that your brain won't let you feel comfortable because it doesn't want you assuming you did well and thus set you up for disappointment.

You should place your trust in your performance on the NBME's. They are the best predictors of your performance and much more reliable than the catastrophic thinking of an anxious post test taker.

NBME 1 :4 weeks before 214 or 216 cant remember
NBME 2: 1 week before 232
Practıce 150: 3 days before 86% whıch was lıke 247 or somethıng accordıng to the calculator thıng on medfrıends

makes me uneasy to thınk ı would be smart enough to get a 247 but ı thought the free 150 was comparable to the real deal
some were knee jerk
some were thought questıons
some were joke questıons
and some were wtf or ı cant remember questıons

did u get your test score back yet online. i took the test over a week ago and am wondering how long the wait is. thanks!

What is this "online" business I keep hearing about???? Are we (students) able to check for the score online? I heard that the Dean can see them online around a week or 2 before you receive them in the mail, but I didn't know that students can check also...is that the case???

As of last month it was announced that starting sometime middle of August all scores would be posted online the third wednesday after the exam. Examinees will be able to log onto the licensing exam services NBME website and be able to print their score report.

I think everyone's reaction to Step 1 is different. I didn't feel like I had passed OR that I had failed - I just felt really, really numb. And tired.

But the next day, I felt really anxious. But I still felt like I had passed - my anxiety revolved more around "what score did I get"? Most of the time, I felt like I had passed.

(Shouldn't it be "9 days STATUS POST Step 1"? Just wondering. Unless you're comparing the pain of Step 1 to the pain of childbirth which, really, isn't such a bad comparison if you think about it.)

Everyone gets a different test and everyone has a different reaction to the test. Maybe your friends got a harder test than you did.

Honestly, if you're pretty certain that you got (at least) 35-45 questions correct on each block, you are FINE - that is probably more than enough to pass. You'll be fine.

I think your reaction isn't the best indicator. I walked out of the test feeling like I aced it (although suspicion I hadn't creeped in within a few days) and my friend walked out thinking he'd blown it. We ended up getting almost the same score.
