My stats:
cGPA - 3.47
sGPA - 3.27
MCAT - 26
From Maryland
Eh ECs, good LORs (2 science, 1 non-s, 1 PA, 1 MD)

Yes, I know my stats are lame... don't remind me about it...

So, here is the deal so far.
I have submitted secondaries to following schools:

Hopeful:
ATSU-SOMA
ATSU-KCOM
ACOM
PCOM-GA
LMU

Money wasters (I know):
AZCOM (Same prompt as CCOM...)
CCOM (Same prompt as AZCOM...)
PCOM-PA (prompt was the same to GA)
NSU (Too easy of an secondary to pass it up...)

Secondaries received but not complete:
LECOM x3 - No DO letter (thought I could get one)
VCOM Carolina - No DO letter
WVSOM - No DO letter
MUCOM - Haven't taken BIOCHEM and Sociology
RVUCOM - Haven't taken BIOCHEM
OUHCOM - very instate I hear

Email about pending primary review by admission for secondary:
Touro NV
Campbell

So my question is,
1. should I take BIOCHEM next semester so I can apply to RVUCOM and be more "competitive" at other schools? Also MUCOM (and take socio)?
2. Should I bother applying to OUHCOM? Extra $60 down the drain? Don't care about practicing in Ohio 5 years after graduation.
3. Is my list enough?

I have very similar stats. I applied to to the following:
ATSU-KCOM
ATSU-SOMA
CCOM
VCOM
PCOM
LECOM-Bradenton
LECOM - Erie
LUCOM
LMU-DCOM
MU-COM
MSUCOM
NSU-COM
OU-HCOM
PNWU-COM
RVUCOM
TUNCOM
UNECOM
KYCOM
WVSOM
Western University

I received a secondary from everyone and have completed almost all of them. If it makes any difference I have not had any rejections yet.... although I haven't had any invites either.

Not gonna apply to OUHCOM....
Probably going to take BIOCHEM next sem though. already signed up for it....

actually... not paying $3080 for a damn 4 credit biochem class at my university....

You can always take biochem in the spring semester if you're admitted to a school that requires it before January!

have plans for spring... surgical procedure that will keep me out of school for 3 months...

Ohhh I see. Well, in that case I guess best to not complete the secondaries for schools that require biochem. You'll still be able to create a good list.

I don't think NSU is a money waster but it will be tough. Talking to an ADCOM they seem to be holistic. I think VCOM could be a good fit for you. 15 seems about right.

Why not take biochem?

Money...
I would love to attend NSU.
A staff from NSU actually gave me a courtesy call today after I submitted their secondary earlier today. Nice of them.

Its a beautiful school you would love it. Warm weather / pretty girls/ south beach. Best of luck with nova. Its definitely not easy to get into though.

at this point, i will take anything... besides Liberty...

The best plan of action admittedly. Also idc if you need to drag your nuts through barb wire, go get a DO lor and apply to VCOM, LECOM-Erie, and WVSOM. As a Marylander you arguably have the best shot of getting into those three schools than any other.

only if VCOM and LECOM didn't require DO letter...
This is what I would suggest if you want to get a DO letter fast. 1st) don't search the internet and start calling/emailing DOs and asking to shadow because if it DOES work, it takes forever. 2nd) Do try to locate any physicians that you or your family members know (friend's dad, your mom's co-worker's spouse, etc) and get a hold of them and ask them is they have any DO colleagues. Then you can use their name a a reference when you make a phone call and introduce yourself. I found that using personal connections and networking showed almost immediate results compared to searching the internet. By doing this, I was able to set up a meeting with a DO just 1 week after making my initial phone call and he offered to write me a letter of recommendation before I even had the chance to ask. I think a DO letter would really help your chances by allowing you to apply to more schools.

Majority people will get secondaries. It means more money for them...

From time to time, I get dusts in my eyes while reading SDN.
I get pink eye on both eyes and lock myself in my dark room so others won't be around to see me with clear discharge running down from my eyes.
It must be because of all the support strangers on SDN give me.

there goes another $100 applying to LECOM... I do hope they supply DO letter during interview... I heard about this over and over again in the past...
Emailed them but didn't want to wait for a response...
Guess it's 2 more scribe shifts I have to work...

Guys, should I apply to Touro-NV, Rowan, and Western-Pomo?
I'm applying to Campbell at the moment...
I might be able to get a shadowing opportunity.
But I don't want to get all hyped about it. I'm sure it will help my lackluster stats though.

Shadowed a sports medicine physician today, who was located ~3 hours away.
Great physician. Saw some procedure that I haven't seen in ED. Sports medicine is pretty interesting.
He agreed to write me a LOR, thankfully.

Hopefully it will help with my application.

............... YUP!!!!
Now, I got MD and DO LOR!
Can't be certain until I receive the letter but he was a great guy so I'm sure he will write me one.

Now, how do I use this interfolio website...?

1) Did you state in you AACOMAS app that it's one of your planned courses? It should be good after that.
2) If there is something particularly attractive about living in Ohio and staying there I would try and apply.

Not taking any courses. Didn't mention it and I don't have the finances to.
Not applying to Ohio, I'm still applying to 17 so I'm hoping I will get some love.
I did (almost, can't be sure until uploaded and sent) get an DO letter and I do have a LECOM II next month. So hopefully I will find out I got in to LECOM by October-November and pick and choose schools afterwards.
