A few questions about applying with Aug MCAT

For those of you who are taking the MCAT in August and applying this year -- are you worried that you're spending so much money without knowing your scores? Does it really matter if we apply in June or August if we won't have MCAT results before October? After submitting AMCAS, is it still possible to add more schools?

yes you can add more after you submit your application. You can add schools and change your address after submitting but that's all.

No I wasn't really worried using my August score. I have good enough grades and knew that my MCAT score would be respectable enough to have a good shot. My scores aren't spectacular - 3.6gpa/29mcat - but were good enough to get into the university of south florida, which is a solid medical school. I also have a lot of community service which was important. good luck!

I'm with the Aug. MCAT crew..Part of me has the same worries as you, Apparition. I am taking a huge gamble with applying without knowing my MCAT scores..However, I also know that I am working very hard to prepare well for the MCAT and the other components of my application..I guess, for me, it all comes down to a whole lot of faith and, of course, smart planning.
