I've probably forgotten most of these, but I'm gonna give it a try.

Which of the following compounds has the highest boiling point?

A. Ethane
B. Cyclopentane
C. Butane
D. 2-methyl butane.
E. Pentane

Given the molal concentration of a solution, to calculate the molarity of this solution which of the following should be specified?
NOT SURE! But this is how I justified it for myself:

Molality = moles / Kg of solvent and Density = mass(kg)/volume(L) so:

(mole/kg) x (1kg/L) = mole/L = Molarity

A. The density of the solution.
B. Volume of the solution.
C. Temp of the sol.
D. Solubility product
E. The Ka.

Which of the following compounds consistently have the highest melting points?
NOT SURE.

A. Dipoles
B. Alkanes
C. Molecular Crystals
D. Salts
E. Metals

In Which two compounds does sulfar have the same oxidation state

A. SO4 and Na2SO4
B. SO2 and Na2SO4
C. SO3 and H2SO4...Both have an oxidation # of +6
D. SO2 and SO3
E. SO4 and H2S2

In which of the following phyla are only bilaterally symmetrical animals found?

A. Chordates...I think some chordates have radial symmetry during their larval stage, which is why I wouldn't choose this one. Not sure!!
B. Echinodermata
C. Mollusca
D. Ctenphora
E. Platyhelminthes

Within a Eukaryotic cell the site for chemical modification of proteins is the

A. Secretory Vesicles

D. Secrete ADH
E. Return sugars and amino acids to the blood

Thanks in advance 😀

Double check these answers. I had to guess some of them since I forgot many of this material.

I got same answers except the first one. I thought longer chains will have higher boiling points than branched out ones. I i chose E for my answer, pentane.

well i kno everyone says stay away from barrons but i had to take the tests at the back of the book and im just gonna post some questions that i want to clear up.

Which of the following compounds has the highest boiling point?

A. Ethane
B. Cyclopentane if you could explain why the cyclic pentane has a higher boiling point that would be great.
C. Butane
D. 2-methyl butane.
E. Pentane

Given the molal concentration of a solution, to calculate the molarity of this solution which of the following should be specified?

A. The density of the solution. i kno we used the density to determine the volume...but if they give me the volume wat do i need the density for???
B. Volume of the solution.
C. Temp of the sol.
D. Solubility product
E. The Ka.

Which of the following compounds consistently have the highest melting points?

A. Dipoles
B. Alkanes
C. Molecular Crystals
D. Salts this is the right answer...i dont kno how i went with metals but ehh
E. Metals

In Which two compounds does sulfar have the same oxidation state

A. SO4 and Na2SO4 isnt this one six as well Na2SO4 is a salt
B. SO2 and Na2SO4
C. SO3 and H2SO4
D. SO2 and SO3
E. SO4 and H2S2

In which of the following phyla are only bilaterally symmetrical animals found?

A. Chordates
B. Echinodermata
C. Mollusca
D. Ctenphora
E. Platyhelminthes this is the answer, thanks nze i didnt kno why they included chordates but thanks, thats something i kno now that i didnt kno before.

Within a Eukaryotic cell the site for chemical modification of proteins is the

A. Secretory Vesicles
B. Golgi Apparatus <<<correct answer
C. Ribosomes
D. Mitochondria lol believe it or not the boook says its this. but since its barrons ill cut them a break
E. Nucleolus

The part of the brain that regulates the heart rate is the

A. Hypothalamus
B. Cerebral Cortex
C. Cerebellum
D. Pons answer
E. Thalamus

The liver has several functions. One of those functions is to

A. Convert ammonia into urea answer
B. Remove salts from filtrates
C. Return filtered blood to the circulatory system
D. Secrete ADH
E. Return sugars and amino acids to the blood now what bugs me is...doesnt the liver store glycogen??? and return it to the body via glycogenolysis

Thanks in advance 😀

Again thanks for the help guys 😀

Which of the following compounds has the highest boiling point?

A. Ethane
B. Cyclopentane>>>The planar conformation has a larger surface area compared to that of the linear chain. This means greater intermolecular interactions, which results in a higher bp.
C. Butane
D. 2-methyl butane.
E. Pentane

Given the molal concentration of a solution, to calculate the molarity of this solution which of the following should be specified?

A. The density of the solution.
B. Volume of the solution>>>True, if you have the molality and the kg of solvent, then you can solve for number of moles, and provided that you know the volume, you can use M = n/V to solve for molarity. However, if you're not given the kg of solvent, then you can only use density to solve for molarity.
C. Temp of the sol.
D. Solubility product
E. The Ka.

Which of the following compounds consistently have the highest melting points?

A. Dipoles
B. Alkanes
C. Molecular Crystals
D. Salts
E. Metals

In Which two compounds does sulfar have the same oxidation state

A. SO4 and Na2SO4>>>In SO4, the oxidation number of S is +8 (S + 2(-4) = 0) and in Na2SO4 the oxidation number of S is +6 (2(1) + S + 2(-4) = 0). So, the oxidation states are not the same.
B. SO2 and Na2SO4
C. SO3 and H2SO4
D. SO2 and SO3
E. SO4 and H2S2

In which of the following phyla are only bilaterally symmetrical animals found?

A. Chordates

C. Mollusca
D. Ctenphora
E. Platyhelminthes

E. Nucleolus

The part of the brain that regulates the heart rate is the

A. Hypothalamus
B. Cerebral Cortex
C. Cerebellum
D. Pons
E. Thalamus

The liver has several functions. One of those functions is to

A. Convert ammonia into urea
B. Remove salts from filtrates
C. Return filtered blood to the circulatory system
D. Secrete ADH
E. Return sugars and amino acids to the blood>>>But what about amino acids? Does the live also break down amino acids and returns them to the blood? I'm guessing the amino acid part makes this the false answer.

Thanks in advance 😀

Hope this helps!

OOOOhhhh....when i saw the Sulfate i thought it was the ion and they got lazy and didnt write the 2- lol. Thanks lol
