Has anyone ever read what % of dentists vote republican? I'd venture to say at least 70%.

Bush for me fwiw.

We're an upper socioeconomic stratum, so yeah, typically GOP. No surprises there.

voted against evil....er, i mean for kerry.

i hate standing in lines..
...but i am proud of the voter turnout here in buckeyeland.

i don't know about this board, but i had this conversation with a "few" classmates recently. at least in my eyes, a healthy majority of "young republicans" have no clue why they would vote for the GOP and are only able to spit out the bush campaign "catch phrases" used in his commercials/ rallies when discussing the election.

my theory is the parent figures are conservative therefore thy child must vote for the conservative candidate also.....or something.

respective platforms appears irrelevant.

😕

And even moreso for the democratic platform. Of course, Kerry hasn't actually explained what he is for nor what he plans to do. All he knows is that "what Bush has done was bad" will garner him votes.

I wonder if he ever feels ashamed that most who vote for him aren't voting FOR him, but rather against Bush?

I agree. Some people told me they vote for him bc they want to see a change. Simply just that. I feel bad for our America. Too bad, I wasn't born here

For heaven's sake, don't vote for bastard Bush

i dont much like kerry, but i voted for him, because in my eyes, hes the lesser of the two evils....

omar

I voted for the one who for the past 4 years has shown the world that terrorists who surprise attack us will suffer -- I feel safer in W's America! 👍

Kerry vote here, but I live in Illinois, so it didn't matter either way....damn you electoral college...damn you....

Go Bush, and go Electoral College....by the way, quit wasting your time talking other people about the party platform, come talk to me, we'll hash it out. Everyone that votes Democrat has something in common, they haven't talked to me yet. Call me, I'll set you straight.

By the way, people that say a person's opinions about politics can't be wrong, are simply lying. Anyone voting Democrat is simply WRONG!!!!!

you're speaking to half your countrymen when you say this.

set me straight?? lol.. Anyone that votes republican deserves to have his head examined: they clearly have their heads stuck in their rears.

Kerry vote here!

By the way, I vote in Florida!

Oh yeah, Kerry vote from my father, mother and sister also!

👍

By the way, VAST MAJORITY of my classmates (aka future dentists) are overwhealmingly moderates and chose Kerry. Also, the vast majority of them are not from MA, many from Florida, some from Tennesse and a couple from Utah. So lets kill this "all dentists are republicans" myth!

i am a moderate, and I am reluctantly voting bush simply because I believe in putting limits on medical malpractice. there is no way this will happen with edwards. it does surprise me the number of people in the medical profession that will vote for a medical malpractice lawyer. my guess is it has to do with displeasure of president rather than the actual issues supported by the challengers.

that being said, i would say the majority of our class will vote bush. not vast majority but probably 60%

Its not a myth pal, its what happens when you become educated. You'll find out that most democrats appeal to the less educated population....hence yourself at this point.

I am from FL. I voted for W today, followed by a YES ON 3, NO ON 7, and NO ON 8.

God help us all (especially health professionals) if Kerry / EDWARDS is elected.

I second that! Yay for Bush 😀

"Florida has just announced that they will reinstate slavery..."

Even if Kerry/Edwards were to win they would have to contend with a republican congress. So I don't think all hope is lost for medical malpractice limits. Whoever wins is going to have a weak mandate from a very polarized electorate.

LoL... hence why 80% of world opinion is agaisnt Bush..

I'm hopeful that America isnt completely filled with idiots like you... we'll see..

I didn't know that we were having a world popularity contest....I'll tell you what, when the world starts asking me about Jacques Chirac, or other world leaders for their election, then they can have a say in ours. Until then, they would DEFINITELY vote to make America weaker, which is apparently why you are voting the ways of "world opinion" according to you. Tell you what, when we want the "world's" opinion, the USA will give it to them!!!!!

Hello.....????? You just lost credibility by saying that someone from Utah, of all places, is going to vote for John Kerry.....I didn't think that was possible.

I actually thought he lost credibility when he said the "vast majority" of his classmates voted for Kerry. In my mind "vast majority" means 60%+, which I'm seriously doubting.

If that IS the case, then they probably haven't researched the issues and have let the Iraq issue confound the other issues that are important to the business and profession of dentistry (taxes, healthcare policy, small-business, etc.).

Yeah rite! California has passed the law many moons ago. Any decrease on medical malpractice insurance ? No... In facts, the insurance rate has increased 15-25% since then. Conspiracy, my friend! Insurance companies and Bush conspiracy !

That's irrelevant. The "millions of people can't be wrong" argument is a dangerous stance to take. By the same logic, you would also agree that Hitler was right in his actions. Besides, who the hell cares what the Frogs and Limeys think? Their opinions are based on their best interests...do you actually think they care about you?

I have never had a Kerry-supporter explain to me exactly what they like about Kerry...anyone care to enlighten me? Also, what has Bush done that was so bad?

It looks like that rowdy bastard's going to take the election again.

Once again, I guess that means 80% of the world is also less educated than me. Oh, and there is also that jealousy thing because we're the only world superpower left standing.

Oh and I'll actually care what other countries have to say when they help us out when were in need, but since we're the only country who helps others in such a great magnitude, screw them all who don't like us, especially those panzy ass french.

🙂 You bet! so he could hand out FIMA (sp) money and collected more votes

I read the first one. What a crock. Isn't it obvious who wrote it? A lawyer...written in pure legalese. Isn't it obvious how he makes his living? medical malpractice suits. We know what he's going to say before he even says it. Nothing but pure bias. Remember...lawyers make their living not by revealing the truth, but by coloring their explanations to fit the side of the story that benefits them the most ($). Being a good lawyer isn't about right vs. wrong, it's about how well you can manipulate the facts to fit your argument....just like this article.

I agree with this 100% and then some. I'm young enough not to be locked into a party and will not vote blind. I haven't been 100% thrilled w/ what Bush has done, but I listened and listened hard for Kerry to tell me SOMETHING he would do in office and he failed to do that. He bashed bush and the war the whole time instead of taking time to talk about what he wants to accomplish, and more importantly, how. In my opinion that means he doesn't know what he wants to do.
