Hey guys!

I'm planning on taking my DAT on August 16. I just took my third Achiever practice test and here's the breakdown:

Bio=17, Gchem=19, Ochem=18, PAT=16, Reading=15(lowest out of any practice test or section test I've done. I usually average 24 on Crack DAT Reading), and QR=19. Should I postpone? As my username clearly indicates, I would love to stay in Ann Arbor and stay a Wolverine for dental school! Go Blue! And thanks everyone!

There was very little correlation to my practice tests and actual DAT scores (Acheiver, Kaplan, and Topscore). I averaged 16 for RC on my practice tests and ended up getting a 23 on the real thing. The best indicator was the actual ADA 2009 DAT.

My practice test average was about.. 17 or 18 and I ended up with a 23AA.

You have another month to dedicate to studying. I don't think you need to postpone. Keep working hard, especially on the RC and PAT sections. Those are usually the most important.

No need to postpone. Keep studying for the next month and you will be fine. My achiever scores were all over and not that big of an indicator of actual DAT scores.

Go back and study the questions you got wrong. Know why each answer is right and why the other answer choices are wrong. Good luck!

Achiever was way harder than the actual DAT for me. I also recall getting scores such as 16, 17, and 18 on Achiever, and yet on the real DAT, I scored higher than 20 on every section (except QR, in which I got a 20). A much more accurate practice test, in my opinion, is the TopScore software.

However, do use the Achiever questions as study tools! Go over the questions you got wrong or guessed on, and study them!

Just like Berkguy stated, the DAT Achiever, is significantly harder than the actual DAT exam.

I think it prepares you for the hardest of things that may not necessarily be on the exam. So I wouldn't take low scores on the Achiever as a real indication of your future actual DAT score. I see you have some 18's, 19's on it. I would go as far to say that you'll get in the 20's on the real exam. Good luck.
