I'm still waiting on that elusive first acceptance and am beginning to get a bit nervous. I'm still on two waitlists, at schools that are known to have signficant waitlist movement but am nonetheless become more tense as the days go by. I want to set a date at which I will submit a new AMCAS and start studying for the August MCAT, but am dreading the thought of doing so. At what point does a person resign to not getting in this year and focus on next year. Has anyone drawn a line in the sand, like June 15th when supposedly waitlist movement begins to taper off.

For me it was July 1. I already had my transcripts sent in, and my PS done, and would have woken up that day and pressed submit.

But if I were you and sure that I was going to retake the MCAT if I reapply, I would just start studying. Sure, it might be a waste of time, but it's time that I would waste anyway.
