I did 10 years in the Navy as a hospital corpsman.
I have a BS in Business Admin 3.2gpa (sad)
I have gone to Iraq and have been a first responder
I currently hold a 4.0 at a CC in Cali.
I have 1 year of chem, 1 year orgo, 1 year physics, Anatomy, Physio, Nutrition, Calc1 and 2. all a 4.0 Will this make a difference when pairing it with my degree or should I just transfer to a 4 year and only mention my new degree in chem(if that is the way I decide to go?

Any help would be great. Thanks

Not completely clear on what you're asking, but AMCAS requires that you report all coursework taken at the college level and beyond, regardless of when the classes were taken. So you will need to report not only all of your business administration and CC classes, but any other classes you take in the future.

What i'm getting at is, will my past grades, given that my current grades are perfect, affect the process of being accepted into Med school by a significant enough margin to where I wouldn't be accepted.

Nvmd I realized that some have got in with significantly lower grades.

Keep up the good work. You definitely have a chance.

Well your business admin grades will go into your cGPA. Although I would think having a low sGPA would be more of a detriment, your cGPA is still an important part of your application.

Also depending on which schools you want to apply to, you may have to retake your prereqs at a university after you transfer. Some med schools either do not accept prerequisites taken at a CC or strongly recommend that required classes be taken at a 4-year university.

Let's say I transfer to another 4 year uni like UCI and graduate with a chem degree. UCI accepts all the classes I've taken at Irvine Valley and they transfer in according to assist. Would that suffice?

Your old classwork really won't matter. I am guessing you went to college when you were 18 than took some time in the navy than went back to college?

You really should think more about your mcat and take classes at a univ level is what i'd recommend.

But to answer your they look more for improvement than overall gpa. for example, if someone had a 3.5 and had equal about of a's and b's throughout their four years and another person had a 3.3 and had a low 1.5 their first year and a 3.9 their their last 3 years....than the student with 3.3 would look better.

basically...they want good student and if you didn't start off well, but improved later, they want to see steady improvement.

No, the consistent 3.5 looks better. Its a better number and shows consistency, while the other is at high and low extremes. Its one thing to have a bad semester, but 1.5 for a semester is catastrophic, and though three years of 3.9 is great, it depends what classes were taken. Yet still, 3.5>3.3.
