A little Question

Hmm, can't say I remember my high school gpa. But I know that if you were to look at my hs transcript vs my college one, it would look like two different people taking the classes 😛 (I'm doing much better in college.)

What was your average in your last high school diploma?

I am curious about your answers.

Assuming you meant transcript, I think mine was a little bit above a 4.0 (my high school gave out weight for AP classes).

Sad part was that my class rank was only 15th or something with that GPA.

Weighting can often present a serious problem. I had a 4.2 and in a class of 700 and was not in the top 10%.

my GPA in high school was 2.9-3.0

Now I'm a soph in college with a 4.0 currently, hopefully staying strong

Whoa! How'd you do it? I'm in a similar situation, except a little lower (2.8). What advice can you give me in order to achieve a 4.0? Thanks.

Never graduated. I don't even know what a HS diploma looks like actually.

Graduated from respiratory therapy with a 3.78 (AAS), and my undergrad was a 3.88 (BA, with all med/dental school pre-reqs), was awarded honors and prizes with both degrees.

I'd honestly attribute my personal academic turn-around to military service and age in general.

You're telling me! I think (to be in the top 10 people) you needed a 4.3 or something along those lines...

3.0 HS, 4.0 college.
Almost got left back in elementary school. (C's and D's - no interest)
My learning style is way more suited to college - I get enthusiastic about subjects one at a time, hated having to get through periods in elementary and high school.
Also, my studying habits improved. A little.

exactly 👍

I had a ~3.2/4.00 (converted) weighted GPA, with a ~2300 SAT, and a class rank of maybe 15%. SAT scores were in the reasonable ballpark for kids around my class rank. Maybe 3% of students had above a 3.6/4.0 scale. This is with weighting for AP/Honors classes.

I'm having a hard time finding a single one of my peers who doesn't have a 3.5+ in any college, "top tier" or not.

I guess it just goes to show that both GPA and class rank comparison is all bull****.

Are you still in HS or in college?

Last semester of HS...What was your turning point? What would you say made that sudden change, the thing that helped you maintain that grade? Thanks.

It really is about discipline and doing what you like. That's what military service teaches you, discipline in tough situations when you know you don't want to do it anymore but tough it out anyway. Discipline is what separates those who are good from those who are great.

Well, I wanted to know whether I can apply with an average about 1,3 - 1,6 at Notre Dame(http://www.ndm.edu/).

After that I want to study medial. Is it possible?(all is possible, but think realistic)

Thanks!

3.0ish in HS. 3.93 in medical school after nearly 2 years.

Well i matured quickly after my sophomore yr in HS, so i chose to become a college student full-time through dual-enrollment and i took my education very seriously.

If you set your mind on something you will do well.. Honestly, at first i was very skeptical but if you really take the time to study and pay attention and don't get crazy with your social life you will be able to do it.

-Study, read ahead if needed.
-Time management, also keep track of everything.
-Focus in class, i never skip class whether it be a very easy or hard one
-Rest
-Never procastinate

I mean i was 16 when i entered my first yr of college, and if I can pull it off, so can you. Takes effort.
It's not too bad if your serious, the ppl that don't do well are the ones who have their mind on something else

Good luck
