We were allowed to 2 rotations back at home...they were either the first 2, or the last 2, and that was then assigned randomly (you couldn't pickthe beginning or end of the year to be back home). But...I've heard rumors that the folks who accredit pharmacy schools are cracking down on that so future classes will have to stay near the school for all rotations. I would double-check with the school on that, though, it's just hear-say at this point.
The ACPE requires the school to physically check out the sites that they send their students to make sure the sites are doing what they're supposed to do and this only applies to required rotations. For elective rotations, students can still do them at their desired locations. It also depends on the school and the area.
This coming school year, the P3s would be allowed 1 rotations out of state, and they would have 1 more rotation in addition to the P3s who just graduated.
