I'm graduating in 2011 and I will take the MCAT and apply to schools in the spring of 2011 for matriculation in 2012. I'm currently entertaining the idea of applying to a masters program or an SMP. With that being said, some SMP's say that students get accepted to med schools during their SMP year. Is it feasible to apply to both med schools and masters programs/SMP's in the same application cycle? How would I possibly go on an interview for a medical school if I was taking graduate courses? Would it be better to either a) not apply to masters programs or b) complete the masters program in 2012 and plan to matriculate in 2013? Any help is appreciated!

It really depends on what you want to do...there is no BEST route, only YOUR route.

yeah its feasible to apply to both med and smp the same cycle. lot of the people i know have done that and are in smp programs while getting interviews. graduate courses typically meet few times a week (most just meet once a week), so there is a chance you dont have a class on your interview-day, or you'll just have to tell your professor that you have a med school interview and usually they're understanding.
