Dear [School Name Here] Committee on Admissions,

Thank you for your letter on March 20th. After careful consideration, I regret to inform you that I am unable to accept your refusal to offer me a position in your medical class.

This year I have been particularly fortunate in receiving an unusually large number of rejection letters. With such a varied and promising field of candidates, it is impossible for me to accept all refusals.

Despite your outstanding qualifications and previous experience in rejecting applicants, your rejection has not received favorable consideration by my Committee on Rejections. I hope you will realize that this does not mean I believe you are unqualified to reject other candidates or that you will not be a great rejector in the future.

Therefore, I will initiate attendance in your classes immediately beginning this Fall, and look forward to seeing you then.

Best of luck in rejecting future candidates.

Sincerely,

[Your name here]

If only....

But well done!
This may be the greatest 1st post of all time.

LMAO. great stuff! i see i'm not the only one who's fed up with all of these rejections

That's more or less what I said when UCSD rejected me pre-interview. But I appealed and got one! What do you think about appealing a rejection post-interview? Has it been done?

JONC: LMAO this is awesome. First thing that made me laugh today.I am SICK really SICK of this game. I had thought that the universe had an order to it. But, this med school application (=entropy) process definitely has no order to it at all.
I may consider submitting this to the schools who will be rejecting me soon.

hahahahahahhahahahhaha great first post!

I'd love to actually send this to some schools! I wonder how they'd react? Who knows, maybe they'd commend you on your initiative, and offer you a spot! haha! Great post! <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

I was very tempted to send a letter declining Dartmouth's rejection, but ultimately, I didn't have the chutzpa (sp?). I figure, that among the thousands of people rejected each year, there's bound to be someone who actually has the gall to do that. 🙂

hahahhaha LMFAO!!!! This is so funny! <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

And Welcome to SDN!!!! 😀

that was badass

i hope you keep on posting great stuff like that.

WELL DONE
WELL DONE

Hey wouldn't it be cool if you send this letter to a school that you didn't even apply to?

Think about that.

this was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now we just need someone with the b#*&s to actually send it out to the adcoms.....

Ok, jonc101, when are you going to tell them that this is not an original work of yours? It's been posted on SDN before, and I laughed my ass off when I first read it. There are a few schools I would have liked to send this letter to, but piss on them.

Was this really the original post from a month back? I remember the wording being a bit different and more comical. Just a tad though....

Hi all,

Just to verify, this was not an original work of mine, though I didn't see the previously mentioned post on SDN. I got this from a friend in the form of rejections from job employment and just refactored it to fit med school rejections, with some basis off of the "Favorite Rejection Letters..." thread.

Regardless, I thought we might all enjoy this little bit of humor.

Best of luck to everyone, hopefully you won't actually need to send in the letter
