I have a quick question about these deadlines schools have.

For example, if a school's deadline is October 1, 2009, does that mean we have to submit our app by October 1st, or that our app has to be verified by October 1st?

thanks

The deadline is the last day that you can turn in an application and be considered for the cycle. You should submit your application as soon as possible (i.e. long before the deadline) to have a better shot at getting in.

So is the deadline the date during which my app needs to be AMCAS verified or is it just the date that I must submit my app (without being verified)?

HAHAHAHAHA

If you aren't verified in October you are doing something horribly wrong. The schools get info that you "applied" even if you aren't verified, but your app won't be sent to the school till verification. I would assume this is a school-by-school decision on what an "on-time" (read: waaaaaaayy late) application is. If this is going to be an issue, call up the schools, but we would all suggest being verified sometime in June/July timeframe.
